The EPA range for Air models is shared by Lucid, with the Dream Edition Range providing a range of 520 miles.

The official EPA ranges for Lucid Motors' flagship Air sedan have just been announced, as they're very excellent. Lucid announced the EPA estimated range for two versions of the upcoming Dream Edition Air, as well as the Grand Touring, in an official press release. Both trim levels offer a range of at least 450 miles.

Lucid Motors is a luxury electric car company based in the United States. Lucid can offer superior qualities in range and horsepower while having a beautiful, luxurious style by charging a higher premium for its electric vehicles.

Lucid Motors has been teasing its flagship EV, the Air sedan, for over a year, sharing new details about its qualities as it gets up to full production.

The Air sedan's Dream Edition trim was scheduled to launch in spring 2021, however Lucid announced delays, setting the delivery date back to "sometime in the second half of 2021."

This news came just days after the announcement of a SPAC merger with Churchill Capital Corp. IV ($CCIV), which was completed in July. The automaker's stock is currently registered on the Nasdaq under the symbol $LCID.

Lucid said in August that the Dream Edition, the first trim level of new Air sedan, would be offered in two versions: the Dream Edition Range, which offers over 500 miles on a single charge, and the Dream Edition Performance, which offers over 1,000 horsepower.

With today's news, we now know what official EPA ranges to expect on the Lucid Air when it finally arrives, and that the Air's actual numbers exceed the suggestions Lucid Motors has shared previously.

The EPA range for Air Dream Editions and Grand Touring is shared by Lucid.

Lucid Motors has released the official EPA range for both models of the Air Dream Edition, as well as the future Air Grand Touring, in a press release.

When combined with 19-inch wheels, the Lucid Air Dream Edition Range has an amazing EPA range of 520 miles.

According to Lucid, the Air now has the longest range of any EV approved by the EPA. Peter Rawlinson, CEO and CTO of Lucid Group, acknowledged these figures:

I'm happy that the EPA has officially certified our Lucid Air Dream Edition Range with a range of 520 miles, which I believe is a new record for any electric vehicle. Crucially, this achievement was made possible by Lucid's world-class in-house EV technology, rather than simply installing a larger battery pack. Our race-proven 900V battery and BMS technology, as well as our small drive units and Wunderbox technology, give Lucid Air ultra-high efficiency, allowing it to travel further on less battery power. The next-generation electric vehicle is here!

Additional EPA range specs for Lucid Motors' electric Air vehicle have been published. The Air Dream Edition Performance markets a little range for extra horsepower, but it still has a range of 471 miles on 19-inch wheels.

The Grand Touring, the Air's next possible trim, loses a lot of power compared to the Dream Edition models, but 800 horsepower is still a lot of power. To top it off, the Grand Touring with 19-inch wheels has an EPA-estimated range of 516 miles on a single charge.

For each of the current version of the Air that Lucid has shared, below are the EPA range estimates:

Lucid Air Version EPA Range Power
Dream Edition Range (19″ wheels) 520 miles 933 hp
Dream Edition Range (21″ wheels) 481 miles 933 hp
Dream Edition Performance (19″ wheels) 471 miles 1,111 hp
Dream Edition Performance (21″ wheels) 451 miles 1,111 hp
Grand Touring (19″ wheels) 516 miles 800 hp
Grand Touring (21″ wheels) 469 miles 800 hp

The Air sedan's Dream Edition version is set to come in the second half of this year, and now that the updated EPA range has been announced, the Air Grand Touring will be the next model of Lucid's flagship EV to follow.

These trims will be followed by two more, more affordable models, the Air Touring and Air Pure, though the EPA range ratings for these trims are unclear at this point. For the time being, all eyes will be on the first Air Dream Edition deliveries.
