Rivian CEO RJ Scaringe reported a pivotal picture for the nascent EV automaker on Twitter today, when the company's first R1T truck designated for a client rolled off the production line. A big number of Rivian employees at the company's Normal, Illinois facility can be seen cheering on the flagship EV as it completes assembly ahead of customer deliveries later this month.

Rivian is an American electric car company on the point of delivering its first passenger vehicle, the R1T truck, to customers. Rivian has already worked with firms such as Amazon to provide commercial EVs to help with deliveries.

Rivian has been able to support around $10 billion worth over the last decade thanks to the support of other major US corporations such as Ford.

Rivian is prepared to make a splash in the EV market ahead of its newly announced $80 billion IPO, with the R1T starting deliveries this month and the R1S SUV following later this year.

Rivian is making a huge popularity, with “Launch Edition” versions of its two flagship EVs on the way this year and two additional trims planned for January.

Rivian is one step closer to bringing the R1T to American roads, thanks to the company's CEO's announcement today.

Rivian CEO RJ Scaringe celebrated the first R1T pickup destined for an actual customer coming off the assembly line in a Tweet today.

Rivian's CEO shared the following message alongside various images capturing the big event for the American automaker:

Our first customer vehicle went off our production line in Normal this morning, after months of building pre-production vehicles! This moment has come about as a result of our team's combined efforts. I'm looking forward to having these in the hands of our customers!

Rivian customers who were lucky enough to get a reservation for the Launch Edition R1T may soon see the new EV in their driveway, thanks to the news.

The vehicles may make a pit stop at one of Rivian's newest pre-delivery centres for a final inspection, depending on where the customer lives.

Customers who ordered the R1T should receive their units in the coming weeks, with the R1S Launch Edition arriving later this year.

Two additional trims of each EV model (Adventure and Explore packages) are still expected to begin deliveries in January 2022, according to Rivian's website.
