Audi launches the Q4 e-tron electric SUV, which starts at $36,400 after incentives.
The Audi Q4 e-tron electric SUV has been officially released in the United States, with a starting price of just $36,400 after incentives.
The Audi Q4 e-tron concept was first presented at the Geneva Motor Show in 2019. After that, Audi announced that a production version of the vehicle will be available "at the end of 2020."
It's an interesting EV since it has the ability to be mass-produced in far greater volumes than the e-tron SYV.
The Q4 e-tron is a smaller SUV based on Volkswagen's MEB platform, which could result in a lower pricing and increased production capacity.
The Q4 e-tron is nearly the same size as the Audi Q3 at 4,588 millimeters (180.6 in) length, 1,865 millimeters (73.4 in) wide, and 1,632 millimeters (64.3 in) tall.
The car was introduced with two battery pack options: 55 kWh and 82 kWh.
The Q4 e-tron can accept DC fast-charging up to 125 kW, and the company claims that the battery can move from a state of charge (SOC) of 5-80% in 38 minutes under "perfect conditions."
The vehicle's higher-end models have a dual electric motor power train that provides a strong all-wheel-drive system and somewhat better performance, with a 0-60 mph acceleration time of 5.8 seconds.
Launch and pricing for the Audi Q4 e-tron electric SUV in the United States
Audi launched its latest vehicle in the United States today, confirming that it will only be available with the larger battery pack.
It is expected to have a range of around 241 miles, according to the EPA (388 km).
It should have an even longer range if built with a single motor rear-wheel-drive power train, though Audi did not provide a figure.
The Q4 40 e-tron, for example, will cost $43,900, or $36,400 after the $7,500 federal tax credit.
