On October 30, Lucid will start shipping first Air electric car.
This is a great achievement for the company.
Lucid finally got its ducks in an order and the financial backing to develop its manufacturing in Arizona last year, after years of delays.
It had hoped to start deliveries by the end of the year, and it now appears that it will be able to do so.
Lucid stated today that on October 30th, it would attend an event to give the first Dream Edition units of its first car, the Lucid Air:
"Lucid Group (NASDAQ:LCID), which is creating new standards with its advanced luxury electric vehicles, today announced the first customer deliveries of the Lucid Air Dream Edition launch models, which set new benchmarks in range and efficiency for electric vehicles." On Saturday, October 30, the first batch of Dream Edition reservation holders will be able to pick up their cars. Throughout the weekend, Lucid's social media outlets will post highlights. The Dream Delivery event comes after Lucid started production at its factory in Casa Grande, Arizona, the first greenfield, dedicated electric vehicle manufacturing facility in North America, last month."
In addition to the delivery, Lucid says the new owners will participate in a "Lucid Rally" with some of the automaker's senior executives to show off the Air.
Lucid Group's CEO and CTO, Peter Rawlinson, had this to say about the announcement:
"The Lucid Air has truly been a job of passion for the whole Lucid team, with client deliveries marking the culmination of years of effort." So I'm really looking forward to giving the keys to our very first clients and joining them on their first trip through the beautiful California countryside."
The Lucid Air will become the first electric car with a range of over 500 miles to be delivered.

Before moving on to Lucid Air Grand Touring versions, Lucid plans to supply only 520 Lucid Air Dream Editions.
Customers are expected to receive the less cost Touring and Pure models in 2022.
