Ola's electric scooter megafactory is specifically for women

Since its launch earlier this year, Ola's electric scooters have been a success. Now, for the first time, we're getting a detailed peek inside the company's vast electric scooter factory, which is totally operated by women.
The elegant look and 70+ mph (115 km/h) performance of Ola's S1 and S1 Pro electric scooters originally attracted attention.

However, the Bangalore, India-based firm's ambitious aim to become the world's largest electric scooter manufacturer has made news for other reasons as well.

We reported earlier this year that Ola wanted to build a huge electric scooter plant in India, capable of producing up to 2 million electric scooters per year.

Ola then went on to say that output would be increased to push that number even higher. According to the firm, the ultimate goal was to sell 10 million electric scooters per year.

Ola aroused more eyebrows with yet another statement as full-scale production approached. An entirely female workforce planned to staff and administer the huge 500-acre factory.

Workers at Ola's factory can be seen welding, wrenching, and assembling the attractive electric scooters as they travel down the assembly line.

Although the facility is still under construction (thus the practically constant presence of construction workers), the first electric scooters are already rolling off the line, just six months after Ola broke ground.

And the rapid manufacturing rate couldn't have occurred at a better time. After receiving growing demands upon opening orders, the corporation has its job cut out for it.

Hundreds of thousands of pre- orders were placed when the company sold four electric scooters every second.

Despite concerns that manufacturing may be behind schedule following Ola's delay of the initial deadline for collecting outstanding funds following pre- order deposits, the business claims that production is currently on track.

Ola's electric scooters will be delivered for the first time in the spring of 2022.

While orders are now only available in Ola's home market of India, Aggarwal has stated that the company wants to expand internationally, including to the United States, as early as next year.
