Watch the Tesla Model S Plaid perform fast laps on the Nürburgring racetrack in Track Mode.

Tesla is currently in Germany, where it is testing the Model S Plaid through its tests and trying to set new marks on a very difficult track.

Below, you can see Tesla take some hot laps on the Nürburgring racetrack with the Model S Plaid.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk decided to use the legendary proving grounds for the electric automaker's latest performance vehicle after Porsche drove its brand-new Taycan electric car to the Nürburgring race to set a new record in 2019.

At the track, Tesla started testing early Model S Plaid prototypes and set some amazing lap numbers.

The vehicle was delayed, and it didn't come out for another two years.

Tesla is taking the Model S Plaid back to the Nürburgring race now that the production version is available.

Last week, we reported that Tesla was spotted testing its Model S Plaid at the track, and even got into a minor accident.

Interestingly, it does not appear to have any significant race upgrades, unlike previous Model S Plaid prototypes that Tesla tested on racetracks.

However, we do know that Tesla is working on racetrack-specific features such as Track Mode.

The programme allows you to keep track of the status of your car's motors, battery, brakes, and tyres, as well as change settings to suit your racing needs.

It also has maps of certain well-known racetracks, such as the Nürburgring, and tracks progress on the track in real time, much like a racing video game.

Tesla is likely to expand its racing product to the Model S Plaid, which achieves 0-60 mph acceleration in less than 2 seconds and a quarter-mile run in less than 9 seconds, making it Tesla's new top performance vehicle.

While the company has definitely experienced some challenges during its previous testing sessions at the Nürburgring, we expect the business to release lap times soon.

Tesla had earlier set a target of 7:05 at the notoriously difficult racetrack.
