In Europe, Mercedes-Benz has opened orders and a configuration for the EQS electric car.
The new flagship electric vehicle from the German automaker starts at €106,374, which is nearly $100,000 USD before taxes.
The EQS is one of the year's most anticipated vehicles.
It is undoubtedly Mercedes-new Benz's flagship electric vehicle, but it might also be regarded the luxury brand's new flagship car in general, as it comes with all of the luxury brand's latest technology and bells and whistles.
The German manufacturer has launched its configuration in Europe and announced the pricing of all versions, with deliveries set to begin in the coming months.
The EQS is available in only two versions: EQS 450+ and EQS 580 4MATIC.
The former has a single rear-wheel-drive motor, whereas the latter has a dual-motor all-wheel-drive power train that allows for better performance:

As you can see, the starting price is €106,374, which includes 19% VAT. In the United States, the equivalent before taxes would be roughly $100,000 USD, although the company has yet to announce US pricing.
With a variety of options, you may swiftly raise that price. For fun, I built myself a very well-equipped EQS, which came to €165,772.95.
There are nearly too many alternatives to pick from, however some packages streamline the process by combining multiple features:
The Assistance Package with the three driving assistance systems Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC, Active Lane Keeping Assist, and Blind Spot Assist is included in the Advanced Package (2082.50 euros). MBUX Augmented Reality Navigation, lighted door sill panels with Mercedes-Benz branding, and a stowage box under the central console are among the other features.
In addition to the Advanced Package, the Advanced Plus package (7021 euros) contains the Driving Assistance Plus package, the Parking Package with 360° camera, and DIGITAL LIGHT. In each headlamp, DIGITAL LIGHT has a light module with three extremely powerful LEDs that are refracted and directed by 1.3 million micro-mirrors. Guide markers or warning symbols can also be projected onto the road using the cutting-edge headlight technology. The EQS now has two new support functions[6]: it may signal the start of a cooperative lane shift and alert or guide you if Lane Keeping Assist or Blind Spot Assist identifies a hazard.
The Premium Package (11,781 euros) takes the EQS to the next level of performance. In addition to the Advanced and Advanced Plus Packages, the following features are available: panoramic sliding sunroof, Burmester® surround sound system, head-up display, and THERMOTRONIC automatic temperature control.
The Premium Plus Package (14,994 euros) adds to the convenience. It features leather-upholstered multi contour seats for the driver and front passenger, as well as the AIR-BALANCE Package, in addition to the components of the Advanced and Premium Packages.
For an extra €18,433.10, Mercedes-Benz will offer a “Edition 1” version of the EQS.
It has sportier AMG design highlights and a slew of amenities, including:
The exterior elements of the Edition 1 are as follows:
- Exterior of the AMG Line
- Obsidian black metallic paint
- Sliding panoramic sunroof
- AMG multi-spoke light-alloy wheels, measuring 3 cm (21 inches).
- In the window triangles in front of the exterior mirrors, there is a “Edition 1” badge.
Features of the Edition 1's interior:
- neva grey / reflex blue design nappy leather upholstery
- Four-way lumbar support and contour lighting are included in the luxury seats.
- Driver and front passenger seats with multi contours
- Nappa-look reflex blue upper instrument panel and belt lines
- Walnut ship's deck trim components with exposed pores
- Front and rear designer seat belt buckles
- Reflex blue floor mats with “Edition 1” lettering and piping
- White lighted “Edition 1” writing on door sill panels
Over-the-air software updates will be available for the EQS, and the carmaker has already revealed three enhancements that will be accessible at launch:
- The customizing package includes the auditory experience "Roaring Pulse" as well as a number of mini-games (Tetris, Sudoku, Pairs, Shuffle Puck). Additional DIGITAL LIGHT animations for opening and shutting are included in the package (12 months of use are included in the purchase price, after which it may be extended for 89 euros via Mercedes me).
- 'Beginner driver mode' and 'valet service mode' are two specific driving modes (package price: 50 euros).
The 'highlight mode,' which is enabled by the "Hey Mercedes" voice assistant, introduces the vehicle and showcases its features.
Tesla has been a pioneer in the market with software-limited hardware that can be unlocked with an over-the-air software upgrade.
Mercedes-Benz used their rear-axle steering as an example, which is software locked at 4.5 degrees but can be raised to 10 degrees for €1,547.
